Well i was reading in magazine subscription i have, They give a complete walk through on installing a dual OS.

How to:
Dual Boot OS installation [Windows XP & Windows Vista]
* This must be a clean install, [complete wipe]
======================================================
Installing XP: Then Vista:
1. Boot your PC from your windows XP cd.
2. Select the hard drive you want to partition for XP & Vista then press C
3. Select the size of your partition, 1000mb = 1Gig [ Use 20 Gigs ] for the OS's Partitions
4. Select the partition and choose to install XP [Pressing ENTER]
5. Select [NTFS] File system, Doesnt matter if you choose quick or the regular one.
6. Let xp format and install XP
7. Now that you have windows Xp installed.
Vista:
=======================================================
8. Put in the windows Vista disc
9. Choose [Install Now]
10. Choose [Custom] so you can do a clean install
11. Select the other partition to install Vista
12. Windows vista will start installing
13. Then after it is complete you will see windows Vista Desktop.

After all of this is done you can reboot your pc and you will get a prompt in the dos screen asking which OS you want to boot up.
It will say:
"Choose and operating system to start, or press TAB to select a tool:"
"(Use the arrow keys to highlight your choice, Then press ENTER.)"
Earlier Version of Windows <--- Thats XP
Microsoft Windows Vista

If all goes well you have completed the installation and you can now use either OS you like.
