I read this online somewheres, But thats beside the point now. I acually have done one for my pc and it works.
So i will write it down so someone can follow this one, or you can search for another one online.
What you need:
1. Xbox Controller
2. Old [USB] Printer cable or any USB cable you will just need one end of it.
3. Soldering Iron and Shrink tube. *Radio Shack has all of this possibly auotparts stores as well.
4. A driver written to recognize the Xbox controller.
Steps for Conversion:
1. Take the Xbox controller and cut the Plug off of it close to the end.
2. Strip back the shield and cut off the yellow wire. You dont need it at all.
3. Take the printer cable and cut it about 6 or more inches away from the USB end.
4. Take the piece you cut off and strip back the shield on it to expose the wires.
5. Be sure to strip the shield back far enough to be able to slide the shrink tube over each wire and leave room to still solder it. Also for the over all cover tube be sure you have a big one over the whole thing slide back before going on.
6. Match the wires colors for the USB and Xbox controller and solder each one in place. *Be sure shrink tube in on the wire first before soldering it.
7. Slide shrink tube over the fresh soldiered wire and heat it with a lighter until it shrinks tight over the bar metal.
8. Repeat steps 5 - 7 until you have all 4 wires done.
9. Now slide the large shrink to back over all of the smaller ones and cover th whole area.
10. Heat it with a lighter to shrink it down.
11. I used the break Away extension from th Xbox controller so it can still be used on the Xbox as well. *See the image below
Driver and Usage:
1. Now all you need is a driver for your controller." XBCDv107"
2. " XBCDv107" Download: www.megaupload.com/?d=I214UXIR
3. Install the driver and plug in the Xbox controller.
4. Go to your control panel and calibrate it and your on your way.
Final Product:
Notice how clean it looks with shrink tube. Using tape will look like crap.
I used the break away link so the controller can still be used on the xbox.
